Sikorsky, Robert. Fools' gold... 1983. One can tell the first and second printings apart by the white splotch or dot in the photograph on page 64. In the second printing it is a large dot, over the 'E', whereas in the first most often there is no dot, though in some cases a much smaller dot is present more to the left (GD).

Quest for the Dutchman's gold... 1991. When Sikorsky changed the name of his book it sold much better (GD). Quest has the same content as Fools' Gold, even the bibliography, but adds a new epilogue and ten pages of photographs from the Gregory E. Davis collection, courtesy of the Superstition Mountain Historical Society. He is another debunker, better at it than Black or Jennings. Good photos. Knows his stuff and had a fascinating personal involvement with the story in the 1950's; the Piper-Jones feud. Worth reading for that, alone. Sikorsky's presentation is not well organized but his argument is sound, if a little sloppy, and he can write. A serious effort to weight the facts. Outstanding bibliography. One of the better and more enjoyable efforts. Sikorsky is a prolific writer of works on automotive topics.
