Shade, Don. Esperanza. 1994. Wow! This is quite an extraordinary book. It has a little bit of everything, from the usual Lost Dutchman stuff, lots of clippings, anecdotes about personages in the story and the story of the story, to the more unusual like Edgar Cayce, conspiracies, and the heretofore unknown role of Darrell Duppa in the mystery. This amazing assemblage of stuff is all tied together by Shade's 'inner voice' or spiritual guide, St. Slyvester. I don't know if channeling is going on or not, but St. Slyvester certainly plays a prominent role and seems to know just about everything. I suppose it had to happen, a New Age search for the Lost Dutchman. I Iike the look of the book and it is not badly written, but what can I say about its content! Nice photograph of the author and Barry Storm from many years ago.
